Carleton Victoria Community Vocational Board, Inc.
(Incorporated 1987)
CVCVB is a community based non-profit service provider with offices in Plaster Rock, Perth-Andover, Bath and Woodstock, New Brunswick.
From its beginning in 1985, CVCVB has evolved its mandate from providing vocational services for people with disabilities to offering a range of community based support services, employment assistance and training programs for youth and adults. CVCVB is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors and employs between 80 – 100 people at any given time.
Key strengths that contribute to CVCVB’s success in service delivery are:
Consistency of purpose: The business focus is in the delivery of community-based support and employment-related services to people facing life and employment challenges in rural and small town environments. CVCVB is committed to a strong culture of service, caring, commitment and empowerment.
Resiliency: The evolution and expansion of CVCVB over the past thirty years is evidence of its responsiveness to change and unwavering commitment to meet the ever-changing needs of the communities it serves. Its organization and staffing approach has built-in flexibility to respond to service and funding shifts.
Community Development: The Board is interested in the integration of persons with disabilities in social, leisure and vocational activities as well as providing employment related service to those at risk of or facing barriers to employment.
Partnerships: Through an integrated community-based approach, agreements and services are developed in close association with local businesses, social service and labour oriented groups. Experience, resources and results are shared. Partnerships are forged based upon mutual interests and a desire to share available resources and expertise.
